The following recommendations are the outcome of the “1st Vienna Peace & Security Talks” held on September 9th, 2019 in Vienna. Around 30 experts from Austria, Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Lebanon and Cyprus discussed the future of a common EU Foreign & Security Policy.
The concept of neutrality has proven time and again that it can adapt to new situations. Neutral states are well suited (in many ways better than other states) for making an important contribution to the fight against new global challenges. The Austrian example of neutrality might also be useful when thinking about the peace process on the Korean peninsula.
